The Rice Diet
The Rice Diet is the antithesis of the Atkins Diet, in that it is low-fat, low-protein and high carbohydrate. The diet is divided into two phases.
Phase 1 – during this phase, the dieter eats just grains and fruits, however as this phase requires medical supervision it is recommended not to be tried at home. Rather attendance at the so-called “Rice House” is required. Once at the Rice House, phrase 1 will occupy at least half of your stay,
Phase 2 – the second phase of the program allows for a wider range of vegetables, pulses and other carbohydrates to be re-admitted to your diet, as well as extra grains and fruit. This phase also allows for one portion of fish per week.
The Rice Diet is primarily a vegan diet, however if you have particular medical needs you can incorporate non-fat diary products, lean meats and fish into the plan.
