The Maker's Diet
The Maker's Diet is a holistic weight loss program which has been based on Biblical teachings and scientific research in order to develop a program which addresses body, mind and spirit. The program lasts for 40 days and seeks to create a balance within your body that will lead to you feeling healthier and happier. The Maker's Diet has 3 “I's” which it seeks to address:
- Insulin – by balancing insulin, the dieter will achieve physical, mental and emotional health.
- Infection – by reducing infection in your body, you reduce the burden on your immune system
- Inflammation – by managing inflammation you reduce the risk of major ill health.
The Maker's Diet is divided into 3 periods over the 40 days of the program.
Phase 1 – First 14 days
Phase 1 is the most restrictive phase of the Maker's Diet, as it involves the limiting of carbohydrates such as pasta, bread and sugar to allow the body's chemical composition to balance. It is also during this initial phase that the dieter must seek to make healthier choices regarding the food they eat. The first phase is also the time to stop eating or drinking many of the things that you may be addicted to, such as sugar, caffeine and preservatives.
The Maker's Diet has several distinctive elements which many other diets do not include in their program, the first is called “Advanced Hygiene” which is claimed to be as important as healthy eating and exercise. Secondly, the “Prayer Factor”, it is recommended that the dieter pray each morning for strength to see the diet through, as well as giving prayers of thanksgiving. The third unique element of the Maker's Diet is called the “Purpose Factor” which requires some time each day to be reserved in order to become cantered and thus keep your mind focused on the healthy lifestyle you are looking for.
Phase 2 – Days 15-28
After the initial 14 day phase, the Maker's Diet allows you to re-introduce various food back in to your diet, such as fruit and dairy products. Phase 2 decreases the speed at which you lose weight, but not the fact that you are losing weight.
As in phase 1, hygiene, prayer and maintaining your focus are important.
Phase 3 – Days 29-40
The third phase of this weight loss program is the maintenance phase of the diet, during this phase more foods can be added to your eating plan which will eventually lead to a balanced diet that is designed to be followed for life, to guarantee your health.
As with the first two phases of the diet, hygiene, prayer and maintaining your focus are essential elements of this weight loss program.
